Flag hoisting ceremony organized in Kathmandu on the occasion of the 77th Independence Day of Indonesia

Flag hoisting ceremony has been organized in Kathmandu on the occasion of the 77th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia.

Honorary Consul of the Republic of Indonesia in Nepal Chandra Prasad Dhakal hoisted the Indonesian flag at the office of the Honorary Consul at IME Complex, Panipokhari, Kathmandu amidst a special programme organised on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Honorary Consul Dhakal said that the Consul’s office has put all the efforts to take relation further in the benefit & interest of both the countries.

He stressed the need of making bilateral relations stronger so as to take mutual benefits from trade and exchange of experience between the two countries.

“To strengthen the relations further and make them in the interest of both the countries, the Office of the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Indonesia in Kathmandu has been playing a significant role,” he said.

Diplomatic relationsbetween Indonesia and Nepal were established in 1960. Since then the relations between the two countries have always been cordial.

Indonesia is a growing economy in the ASEAN region. The trade volume between Indonesia and Nepal is also quite significant.

Indonesian community members residing in Nepal, staffs of Honorary Consul and staffs of IME Group, among others were present during the ceremony.
